WAUKESHA – A radio personality on an area station is calling on Mayor Jeff Scrima to temporarily change the name of Waukesha for pop sensation Ke$ha while she performs in Milwaukee on Thursday.

Andy Riggle, otherwise known as “Riggs” on 97.3 RadioNOW, has sent an open letter to Scrima asking him to unofficially change the name of the city to WauKe$ha on Thursday as the popular singer performs at The Rave at Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee.

Scrima didn’t return phone calls from The Freeman seeking his thoughts on the plan.

However, Ke$ha, who according to her publicist was in Nashville, Tenn., doing an all-day photo shoot responded via e-mail saying she would like to see it happen.

“Wa u ke s h a ! O r. . . . WauKe$ha….I fully support you guys changing your name to WauKe$ha (like my name, with a dollar sign!) for a day…or forever!” her e-mail stated.

According to the letter, Riggs explained to Scrima about Ke$ha’s success and how she’s one of the biggest artists in radio at the moment and a very big name to come to Milwaukee.

Riggs states he isn’t asking for any fancy plaques or gaudy ceremonies, unless Scrima wanted to have one, but just a verbal “green light” for an honorary WauKe$ha day.

“I believe as the mayor, you have the power to designate certain ‘honorary days,’ at least in my past experience, that has been the case. Nothing overly official, just a classy way of acknowledging a person or event in the community,” Riggs’ letter states. “I am requesting that for this Thursday ONLY – the city of Waukesha be known as ‘WauKe$ha’ in honor of our good friend Ke$ha performing just down the road. After all, her name is already included in the name of your fine city.”

Riggs tried to contact Scrima at City Hall at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday while on his show; however, no one was there.

“I am requesting that for this Thursday ONLY – the city of Waukesha be known as ‘WauKe$ha’ in honor of our good friend Ke$ha performing just down the road, Riggs writes in an open letter to the mayor. “There is no need for any fancy plaques, or gaudy ceremonies, unless you feel the need to coordinate.”

Ke$ha threw herself a little party on stage at the Borgata Event Center last week (August 14) in Atlantic City as part of Rihanna’s ‘Last Girl On Earth’ tour. Actually, it was more like an orgy, with her daisy dukes-wearing male dancers gyrating, stroking their bods, and stripping down to their undies by show’s end.

In the middle of all the glitter-covered chaos was the 22-year-old pop star performing her string of party-ready anthems like “Your Love Is My Drug,” “Blah Blah Blah,” and “TiK ToK.”

One of the highlights of OK! is the weekly column “What I Ate Today,” where a nutritionist rates a random celebrity’s diet. Usually, it’s boring. But this week Ke$ha revealed that she ate nothing but green tea, almonds, candy, veggies with barbecue sauce, and tofu in an entire day—her total calorie intake was 579. The nutritionist has never been more flabbergasted.
